Tour Overview.
This is a unique trip where you will stay in beautiful coastal villages and towns, and also on three Islands.
You go from the quaint little village of Doolin into the largest of the Aran islands...Inismór. There you will experience how life is lived through the medium of the Irish language (English also spoken there). You can take a trip around the island by horse and jaunting car, or rent a bike. There is so much to see on the Island do along with all the music you will enjoy in the pubs. Fresh fish restaurants, Aran knits, craft shops, ancient sites and so much more to experience. You will then make you way to Cleggan Co Galway where you will take a boat into Inishbofin island. You will then drive to Achill Island off the coast of Co Mayo where you will enjoy the spectacular scenery, history, craft shops and music.
Suggested itinerary
Day 1
Arriving in Shannon airport you will pick up your rental car and make your way to the coastal village of Doolin. On the way you could visit Bunratty Castle and Folk park, have lunch in Dirty Nelly's then go to the amazing Cliffs of Moher . You will stay in a family run B&B tonight.
Day 2
Take a boat trip into the Aran Islands today, you can choose one of the three islands and spend the day exploring. You could rent a bike and cycle around the island or you could take a trip with horse and jaunting car. Returning to Doolin for your second night. Enjoy the great lively Irish music in any of the local pubs.
Day 3
Take the coastal drive to Galway, spend a few hours exploring all that that city has to offer, cute craft shops, music in the streets, the museum, the famous Claddagh and so much more. Then drive west to the Craft village in Spiddal. Drive west through the rugged Connemara scenery and make your way to Clifton where you will stay for the night in a B&B or a premier hotel.
Day 4
Drive to the near by village of Cleggan today and take the boat into Inishbofin. This is another island where you can explore at your leasure. Check out the ruins to Cromwells barracks, enjoy the beaches, flora and fauna and of course...... the people! When you arrive back on the mainland make your way to Westport where you will stay that night. Go to Matt Malloys pub for the best in traditional music.
Day 5
Take a trip today to Westport house and gardens, learn about the rich history of the house and explore the stunning gardens. Take a trip to Kylemore Abbey today enjoying the breath-taking scenery on your way. Take the shuttle to see the amazing walled gardens while there and take a walk through the house too!
Day 6
Drive to Achill island today where you will stay two nights. You can drive on to the island so you can take you time exploring the island at your own pace. Enjoy the scenery, beaches, photo ops, great restaurants, craft shops. You will stay in a B&B or premier hotel while there.
Day 7
Again you can take it easy, visit the deserted village in Achill today, or you can take a drive around the Mayo coast, visiting the ancient Céide Fields and learn our history in the heritage center there, and you could make your way to Downpatrick head where you will see amazing coastal scenery.
Day 8
Make your way back to Dublin and take some time to explore what the capital city has to offer, check out Trinity college where you can see the famous "Book of Kells", Check out Jameson Distillery, Guinness Store house, the whiskey museum and take a stroll around the Temple bar area too! Tonight you stay a premier hotel in Swords which is only 5 mins from Dublin airport.
Day 9
Return your car to Dublin airport today and say goodbye to Ireland until your next visit.
Please note you will fly into Shannon airport and leave from Dublin. We can upgrade you accommodation and you car from manual to automatic if required.
